Walmart testing home delivery service

If you want to avoid big crowds of shoppers at Walmart, the store may soon be able to come to you.

Walmart is now testing home delivery in San Jose, California.

With "Walmart to Go," customers can order groceries, health and beauty products, over the counter medicine, and some household supplies like paper towels or laundry detergent, from the company's web site.

Someone from Walmart will then deliver the products to your home at a time you choose.

Walmart officials say the service may eventually expand to other test markets outside of California.

I think this is great for all of us that can not drive do to low vision, etc. and we will be able to get items we need each week, and not have to depend on some one else driving us.

I think it's a great ideal, I heard it on the news. You can order all foods and everything else, with the exception of perscriptions. The delivery charge is going to be between 5 and 10 dollars. Think of the gas we will save I'm 30 miles from wal-mart. I'll be the first one to place an order. At our local wal-mart you have to stand in line forever.

Oh i think this is a great idea. About as great as doing away with lay away and no longer selling material ( just a few months after i went there and bought a new sewing machine ). Only place in town that sold material.

I think this would be great, I can remember when little family owned grocery stores in my area did this. Most people have such busy schedules this would be very helpful.

Nathan: How short sighted and ignorant. Ever think about how useful home delivery would be for the elderly and handicapped? The true handicapped, of course.

I think this service would be great for people that can not drive, have health problems etc. You don't have to be LAZY to need such a service. I hope that this service works.

I think it would be great. More of that hometown feeling connecting with our seniors not LAZY people as Nathan put it.
