Walmart stores cutting gas prices for three months

BENTONVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is cutting gas
prices by 10 cents a gallon for three months.
The world's biggest retailer says customers visiting
participating Murphy USA and Walmart gas stations from Wednesday
through Sept. 30 will receive the discount on all fuel, gas and
diesel purchases when they use a reloadable Walmart gift card,
Walmart MoneyCard or a Walmart credit card.
Gas prices neared $4 a gallon in late April and early May, but
have since fallen to a national average of $3.57 per gallon. Still,
the government reported on Monday that Americans spent at the
weakest pace in 20 months in May, a sign gas prices may be hurting
the economic recovery.
Wal-Mart Stores is based in Bentonville, Ark.

If places like wal-mart are giving deals on gas they are still making a profit otherwise they wouldn't do it. This just tells me that gas should be much cheaper than it is. Im not for big govt regulations but the oil business is one area that needs to be nationalized. Water and electricity is regulated so why isn't the gas price. $700 billion profits each year for oil companies? Tell me that's not right!!

My Kroger card says I have to purchase $100 in merchandise to earn 10 cents per gallon discount on a fillup with 20 gallon max. Buy yourself a Wal-Mart gift card and get a discount on all the gas you buy. Kroger is the one that needs to come up with a better offer.

thats great, if u can manage not to buy anything unnecessary while you are loading your card.I see thought this,it only helps us if we don't fall for thier tactic to get us in to buy something. As for Kroger Dennis that requires buying food...........I don't have money to buy 100.00 dollars in groceries to get 10 cents off gas!!!!!!!

I agree with Dennis. Kroger has been doing a lot more deals on gas then anyone around here. Depending on how much you spend at kroger you can save much more. A week ago I got 80cents off a gallon for a special they did and that was really nice. I didn't even know it was going to give me that much, I only expected 10cents. And there is only one walmart here that has the fuel station and we have several krogers and shells.

Kroger has been doing this for a while you guys should try 12 or 15 cents. The kroger card is free no hassles dont have to buy the card.In my area there are no walmart gas stations and 4 shells where i can use my kroger card. There is usually more shells than walmarts so do the math which do you think is more convenient.
