It's that time of year again. Flu shots are now being offered in the Bluegrass.
The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department is giving flu shots at its Public Health Clinic North on Newtown Circle.
You do not need an appointment to get a flu shot. The shots are $25 each.
Medicaid, Medicare B, and some insurances are accepted.
This year's flu shot also provides protection against the H1N1 virus.
"Getting a seasonal flu shot is the quickest, easiest and most effective way to avoid the flu each fall and winter," said Lois Davis, the health department's public health nursing manager, in a news release. "We have plenty of the vaccine available, so anyone wanting to protect themselves and their family should come out for a shot this year."
Health officials say last year, Lexington had more than 300 confirmed flu cases.
