FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Residential customers of Louisville Gas &
Electric Co. and Kentucky Utilities Co. will find some rate changes
as a result of an order from the Kentucky Public Service
The PSC on Tuesday approved revised surcharges and authorized
the utilities to expand residential and commercial energy
conservation and efficiency programs.
The expansion involves the continuation of 10 programs and
addition of three. One will pay customers $30 for each old
refrigerator or freezer they allow the utilities to remove and
recycle. The second provides incentives for replacing old
appliances with more efficient models.
The PSC says the surcharge changes will amount to reductions in
some cases and increases in others.
