Residents are able to create a Smart911 Safety Profile at www.smart911.com that is automatically displayed upon the placement of a 9-1-1 call. They can enter whatever information they like into the database, including medical conditions, the number of children in the house, emergency contact points, etc. Photographs can also be included.
When a resident is registered with Smart911 and places a 9-1-1 call from any phone they have registered on their profile, emergency personal have access to the information they provided; on health issues, access points, special needs and other important details. In case a person cannot speak, the call taker will be able to view specific information and send the appropriate assistance to the location provided.
There's no direct cost to register, as the program is paid for by the public safety agencies that adopt it. The services is safe, secure and free.
