PROGRAM TITLE: Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP)
SERVICE AREA: Fayette, Harrison, Nicolas, Bourbon and Jessamine Counties
PROGRAM SUMMARY:
RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers as it matches the personal interests and skills of adults 55-yrs-old and older with opportunities to serve their communities.
RSVP volunteers choose how and where they want to serve—from a few hours to more than 40 hours a week. RSVP volunteers provide hundreds of community services, such as: patient transportation, disaster relief, event staffing, reading to the blind, craft projects, food distribution, activity instruction, thrift store assistance, hospice care and grief counseling; tutoring in reading, math, English as a second language, and computer skills; as well as countless other needed services.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least 55 years of age.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS: Driver’s License & Proof of Insurance (for those requesting mileage reimbursement only)
CLIENT BENEFITS: Clients benefit as volunteers help in the areas that have the most need.
