Former TWA Flight 800 investigators want new probe

With the return of football season coming and with me getting out to a lot of schools and speaking with athletes, it is becoming easier to get my thoughts all situated and written down once again.
The other day I almost wrote an entry after visiting the Bulldogs of Lawrence County, but after watching the above video, I felt it necessary to do my first entry for the football season.
After watching the video, I had this thought, which ended up also becoming a tweet.
As a former athlete, I am glad that I am still surrounded by athletes. When they say sports teach you life lessons, without a doubt its true. If I wasn't around the game daily, I would miss it way too much. My passion for it may seem hidden but it gives me goose bumps every time!!!
While at Lawrence County, I finished up my interviews with the football team and walked out to my car. Across the way over on the softball field were some kids throwing a ball around and just having fun. It just reminded me of the feeling I got, when I was younger, having fun, and just being care free.
That is what sports has the ability to do. If gives us the sense that everything is okay, and for that time, whether you are playing a game or watching it, nothing is wrong. I feel lucky to get that feeling each and every day I go in to work, and it reminds me, every time I go in to work, to do an interview, to anchor Sports Overtime or anything, that in the end just have fun.
