2014 Mountain Classic: Day 1 Recap

Lawrence County, in its first ever appearance in the Mountain Classic, advances to the boys semi-finals with a 71-61 win over the Cordia Lions. The Bulldogs will meet the defending Classic champion Perry Central Commodores Thursday night at 6:30pm. The Commodores advanced with a 64-46 win over the Bell County Bobcats.

The first ever girls Mountain Classic tipped off with a bang as Magoffin County avenged a loss to Harlan County earlier in the season, beating the Lady Black Bears 67-62 in overtime. The Lady Hornets will play in Friday's championship game against the winner of Bell County/Leslie County. Harlan County will play in the consolation game on Thursday at 5:00pm.
