What does strength of schedule really mean?  Is a team no less good if they beat up on bad opponents?  Do is it matter if you win close games as long as you win?  You be the judge.  Here's a look at the last four undefeated teams left in the Mountains and who they've played.

Bell County

52-7 vs. Chruchill Volunteer, TN (2-6)

65-0 vs. Madison Southern (0-8)

Recap: Bell County's opponents have an overall record of 29-24.  But 4 of their 7 opponents have high winning percantages.  Including two teams whose only loss is to the Bobcats

Johnson Central

26-14 @ Breathitt County (5-2)

49-13 vs. St. Thomas More, ON (?-?)

35-31 vs. Bryan Station (3-4)

36-29 vs. Shelby County (0-7)

54-33 @ Woodford County (5-3)

Recap: Johnson Central has played a very tough schedule.  The combined record of their 7 opponents is 22-21 (not counting St. Thomas More), but that is brought down by Shelby County.

Recap: Belfry has played the weakest schedule to date.  Their opponents have a combined record of 18-34.  And only 2 of the teams have a winning record.

Recap: Corbin has played a solid schedule.  Their opponents are a combined 25-33.  The wins over Knox Central, South Laurel, Lexington Christian and Middlesboro look pretty good.

You can do what you please with this information.  I am just trying to give some information that people have been asking for.  Also keep in mind that just because a team hasn't beaten a lot of quality opponents does not mean that they aren't good.  Besides, a lot of this may be cleared up as the season goes on.  Especially when Belfry travels to Johnson Central on November 7th in the last game of the regular season.
