Church Pews and Rich Brooks

How is covering UK football like going to church? Find out.

We always talk about what you see on the field.  But sometimes, those that cover the Sports are just as interesting.  We are all creatures of habit, and members of the Media are no different.

Each Monday I drive to Lexington for the UK Football Press Conference.  About 10 other cameramen are there besides me.  An interesting thing happens.  For the most part, no matter what time anyone gets there, they always set up in the same place.  Even if I'm the first one there, I set up just right of center.  Each week just to my right is the guy from The Cats Pause.

One day I asked him if he noticed the same pattern.  He said he did.  And then he explained it with one simple phrase.  It's like a church pew at a Southern Baptist Church.  You sit in the same pew every week until a family moves out of the area.  We are the same way on Mondays.

And if you think about it, you probably do the same thing in your own daily lives.  Whether it be where you sit in the lunch room or where you park your car, you follow a pattern.  We all do.

Think about it.  Think about it.
