* Rick Pitino - 1 win, lost vs. #14 Indiana 71-69.

* Tubby Smith - 2 wins, lost to #1 Arizona 89-74 in the Maui Classic.

* Billy Gillispie - 1 win, lost to Gardner-Webb 84-68 at home.

Thoughts:
* At least 3 of the coaches lost to ranked teams.
* Joe B. and Billy G both lost at home to unranked teams.
* Rick Pitino didn't have a whole lot to work with.
* Tubby Smith won a National Title his first season.
