Ky. to receive $6 million from online gambling case
Posted: 11:53 PM - Gov. Steve Beshear says Kentucky will receive a settlement of more than $6 million from a case involving online gambling.
After filming the above last night, I had to share this story and my thoughts with all of you. This was more than just a cutting down of the nets and a celebration between coach and player.
This was a special moment between a player, Beth Anders, who was not able to play in the game last night with the rest of her teammates. That is because earlier this month, Beth tore her ACL, MCL, and meniscus in here knee in a game versus Betsy Layne.

As I shot this I became sad but also thought about my post from earlier this week titled "Sad and Exciting Time of Year". This was one of the the things that I was speaking about in that post. Beth is a senior at East Ridge High School who has excelled in volleyball, basketball, and softball for the Lady Warriors. Unfortunately, she will not be able to carry on her basketball career, and may miss the entire softball season, but she will at least be able to share in moments like this with her teammates and family.
But, as I mentioned earlier in the week, it is because of things like this, that we need to realize what is the most important. Winners and losers are great, and life is all about winners and losers, but life is also all about friendship, love, and memories. That is what matters the most.
Over the past week already, I have seen players like Sarah Scruggs and Anne Corey Johnson shed tears over their loss. I have seen the Bell County Lady Kats thrilled about a cross town rivalry win, and I have now seen Beth and head coach Denise Campbell in a brief, but priceless moment while cutting down the nets.
Remember, as you continue to move on in the districts, region, and state, winning is a great feeling, but years down the road, the memories and friendship will be what you will cherish the most.
