Cal's "Kentucky Effect" continues through Practice

I got a chance to watch Kentucky’s Nationally Televised Practice right here on WYMT on Wednesday Afternoon and in seeing some of the things that Coach John Calipari does, It’s no surprise of the success he’s having this season.

I’m sure he is A LOT more animated when the cameras are not rolling but Cal is meticulous in trying to teach fundamentals to help them get their next victory.

He’s interacting with the fans at the beginning of the broadcast to give the Big Blue Nation a new look in to how they get ready for games.  He was getting them to cheer to help Anthony Davis miss a free throw, to simulate a “Live Game.”

If I am a kid in high school, and Coach Calipari walks in and tells me, “We get Pracitce on NATIONAL Television.” (ESPNU Broadcasted the game)  That has to get some kind of pull in a decision on where they want to play College Basketball.

It’s a neat idea to give the fans an insight on how much preparation is made in preparing for an opponent.  And to me, this is good for Kentucky and College Basketball.  You don’t see Roy Williams of North Carolina airing practice.  Or Mike Krzyzewski at Duke.  Only at Kentucky can this be pulled off.

So I hope Kentucky Fans enjoyed this practice as much as I did.

Yes, I’m talkin’ about Practice.
