1947: California 8, Yale 7 in first ever College World Series Championship game in Kalamazoo, Michigan (say that out loud a few times)!
1960: John Elway was born. Elway graduated from Stanford...was the first pick in the 1983 NFL Draft (Denver Broncos)...Some honors:
1970: The Pittsburgh Pirates closed out their 62-year tenure at Forbes Field with a 3-2, 4-1 doubleheader sweep of the the oh, so sad Chicago Cubs (just hang in there Cubbies...one day you'll be BEARS!)
1997: Mike Tyson was disqualified near the end of the 3rd round when he bit a chunk out of Evander Holyfield's (the then World Boxing Association champion) ear.
