Perry Central – the host site of the 14th Region tournament this year – and Knott Central will play Wednesday, March 5 at 8:15 p.m. in the first round.
“The first time around, they really punished us on the boards. They beat us 35-17 on the backboards,” Perry Central head coach Shannon Hoskins said. “We have to do a much better job of keeping them off of the backboards. And obviously Camron (Justice) and Evan (Hall) had really good games. Camron had 41 and Evan had 19 and 14. We got to do a better job of keeping Evan off his mark down low and keep Camron from catching in scoring positions."
The Commodores come into the game having lost to Hazard in the 54th district championship; the Patriots come into the game having won the 53rd district championship.
When Knott played Perry on Valentines Day -- the only game they played against eachother all year -- the Patriots won by 17 points (77-60).
"I have to be honest, probably the next three days, I won't sleep a lot,” Knott Central head coach BB King said. “But after that, come game time, you forget about that. And it's not going to be easy for anyone -- whoever comes out of here. And you know the catch: you have to beat Perry at Perry. They are tough here and they have a good ball club."
