Ky. to receive $6 million from online gambling case
Posted: 06/19/2013 - Gov. Steve Beshear says Kentucky will receive a settlement of more than $6 million from a case involving online gambling.

Over in Inez, Sheldon Clark Lady Cardinal Guard Carla Booth will be signing to play with the Eastern Kentucky Lady Colonels to play basketball.
Carla chose EKU over Marshall, Morehead, Middle Tennessee State.
Carla, told me the coaching staff has told her she could see significant playing time as a freshman and have the ability to make an immediate impact for the program.
Carla, led the Lady Cards in scoring last year averaging 19.9 points per game adding 5.7 boards per game.
Carla helped lead her team to a 20-6 record last season.

Also on Wednesday, Southwestern guard Danay Fothergill with sign with the Western Kentucky University Lady Toppers. Danay chooses WKU over Miami (Ohio), Stetson, North Carolina-Wilmington, North Carolina-Greensboro, James Madison and Liberty.
Fothergill finished the 2009-10 season averaging 26.4 points per game along with 3.9 boards per game.

On Friday, Lawrence County pitcher Chandler Shepherd will officially sign with the University of Kentucky Wildcats to play baseball.
Chandler missed almost his entire Junior season on the mound last season due to Tommy John surgery but still contributed to the Bulldogs success as a designated hitter.
Chandler is one of the more dominant pitchers in the WYMT coverage area over the last several years and follows a tradition of great pitchers at Lawrence Co, more recently , Steve Blevins. who was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in 2008.
