The Letter "C..."

Michael Jordan has been on the cover of 47 magazines...(including these interesting ones! ESPN The Magazine, Sports Illustrated, The Sporting News, WWF Magazine, Newsweek, GQ, Baseball Card Price Guide and Cigar Aficionado)

speaking of cover...the other night I had a conversation with Derek Forrest that somehow ended up with us mentioning TOM  COVERDALE... apparently he went to high school with Derek!

Bio-blast time!

Yes this is Tom Coverdale in a suit!

Noblesville, Indiana native...earned 1998 Indiana "Mr. Basketball" award before spending time in New Hampshire at New Hampton Prep his senior year (averaged 21 points, 7 assists and 4 steals per game) forward to his Hoosier days...Coverdale was recruited by Bob Knight...played one season for him...finishing under Mike Davis...

In 2001-02 Indiana reached the NCAA Championship Game, losing to Gary Williams' Maryland team.  During the tourney...Coverdale earned NCAA South Regional MVP honors (all while battling two sprained ankles). A four-year letterwinner for the Hoosiers, he played in 115 games and scored 1,217 points (ranks 28th in school history).

Coverdale is the only player in IU history with more than 1,000 points, 200 made three-pointers and 500 assists.

After graduation...played one season with Rockford (CBA) and one season in Germany before joining the University of Louisiana Monroe Warhawks basketball staff as an intern.  After two years, he was promoted to assistant coach...a position he still holds.
