This Wednesday, U-K's Markey Cancer Center will host a free prostate screening.

This Wednesday, U-K's Markey Cancer Center will host a free prostate screening, from 4:30 to 6:30pm. This is by appointment only so call one of these numbers to register: 866-340-4488, or 859-257-4488.

On WKYT at 5:30, Monday and Tuesday, I will answer Good Questions about prostate  cancer with an interview with Dr. Stephen Strup from the Markey Cancer Center.

As for my personal battle with prostate cancer, this Friday, December 9th, is my one-year anniversary from prostate cancer surgery. I have had two PSA tests since then, and both show my PSA number to be "undetectable." That is great news, and indicates my cancer is probably gone. At least for now. It's difficult to feel 100% sure that I will never have prostate cancer again, but it does seem very unlikely.

It was a high PSA test that pushed me to get a biopsy which then led to the discovery of prostate cancer. I credit my urologist, Dr. Fred Hadley, and my father, who suffered from prostate cancer, with encouraging me to get yearly prostate exams starting at age 48

I would like to hear from any of you who have had experiences with prostate cancer, and would like to share those with our me and/or our viewers.

God Bless everyone for their prayers and support this past year.

I will have news to announce soon on a local effort to raise money to fight prostate cancer.
