The time is moving fast towards Thursday morning. Lots to do between now and then which is probably a good thing...keeps me a little distracted from what's about to happen. I am letting go as much as I can. It's in God's hands, and the surgeon's. So many people, including an entire school, have offered to pray and keep me in their thoughts this week. You just can't go wrong with that kind of support. It's truly a blessing! The school is Lakeside Christian near Morehead. My friend and former co-worker, David Patrick, says on Thursday morning while I'm in surgery...the school will be praying for me. Wow!
I have heard from so many men who have been thru prostate removal surgery, and their advice has been invaluable. The first days and couple of weeks will not be comfortable after surgery. I am indebted to all who have offered tips on managing post-op. I will stay in contact thru this blog and Facebook after surgery. My goal is to return to work within 2-3 weeks. I want to continue to reach out to all men about the need to have annual prostate check-ups. I had no symptoms. So it's really important guys to watch your health and take care of business before symptoms emerge.
Finally, I thank God for my wife, Noelle, who has stood by me for 17-years of the good, the bad, and they ugly. She is a rock, my rock, and has the greatest ability to love of anyone I know or will ever know. I am so blessed to have her by my side for this part of life's journey. God Bless all of you, and may you all have a healthy, loving Christmas holiday.
