Five weeks out of prostate cancer surgery, I think it's time to air my story from the operating room. It's not graphic, but it took me days to look at the pictures from my operation. You can't see me on the operating table. I am covered head to toe, but I knew who it was so it was a bit strange seeing pictures inside my body. Our news videographer, Ray Brown, did an excellent job. He spent about 45-minutes in the operating room (my surgery lasted about 2.5 hours). My story Monday at 11pm starts with the day before surgery as I go thru the pre-op. It gives you a quick look at the Da Vinci robot used by my surgeon. Pretty incredible technology.
I hope these stories continue to open the door to more understanding and awareness about prostate cancer. Early detection is so important, and in my case, it may have helped save my life.
