Personally, I think the job Rich Brooks and staff have done is close to miraculous. Through the bowels of probation to consistent bowl victories should be validation. The process of going from past talent level to current is nothing short of an astronomical leap. Throw in scholarship restrictions and other matters, and things could be a whole lot worse. I was on a Pikeville radio show Monday night, and there sure seemed to be a great deal of excitement surrounding this year’s Governor’s Cup. I’ve talked to both UK and U of L fans, and everyone seems to know that the big game is coming up on Saturday. Several stories have been posted about the missing buzz factor going into the rivalry game. Against Georgia, we witnessed a fight in the Cats O that has not been evident through the first 8 games, which was a direct reflection of its young starting quarterback. Randall Cobb is a competitor; his fire was felt throughout the offense on Saturday. 38 points in a losing effort didn’t appear to be satisfying to Cobb, this is a great sign of things to come.
