Perry County cleaning up after flashing flood
Posted: 6:00 PM - Heavy rains caused major problems in the Perry County community of Big Creek, after flash flooding swept away cars and flooded an elementary school.
When I say heat… I mean we could be really talking about some impressive numbers before this 7-Day Forecast is through. I have also been watching the rain chances increase for our region. It looks like showers and storms will be around Kentucky combating the high temperatures for at least one day this week.
Also… let me just say that I am very frustrated with this blog. I attempted to post two different blogs on Tuesday morning and suddenly they disappeared. Sure I should have written them in some other program and saved them… sure I shouldn’t just write them in the blog editor… sure I should always have a back-up blog… sure I should shut up about the issue at hand!
At any rate it was quite the interesting blog… well the first one was. By the time I got around to the second one I couldn’t remember what U had written in the first one.
Now time for a lot less complaining and more on the forecast. Which is really going to heat up by the weekend. First things first… the remnants Dolly are actually going to play a role in our weather for Wednesday & Thursday. That mositure will be here keeping the heat held in check for a couple of days. With the clouds and rain expected for this disturbance, I am thinking that daytime highs will be held into the mid and possibly low 80s. Highs Wednesday mid 80s and highs Thursday look to be a little cooler in the low 80s. The reason I think this is because the rain chances are highest on Thursday. As a matter of fact I have had the unfortunate experience of forecasting highs, on a day like this Thursday, and missing them sue to timing of the precip. These instances can be very tricky because timing will mean everything. If the rain is here mid day then we have to knock those highs down. The problem is that I am not seeing enough consistency in the data (that I favor) to real come up with a concrete answer. Gotta LOVE weather!!!!!
It’s next week’s heat that will really become the primetime story around these parts. I have watched as the heat core gets closer and closer to the fine folks of Kentucky. I think some of the highs could approach the century mark. I ‘ll have more on that later!
