Motorists paying about the same as last year for gas
Posted: 3:29 PM - A holiday weekend doesn't always mean higher gas prices. That's according to Gregg Laskoski, who's a senior petroleum analyst with GasBuddy.com.
Why Hello Dolly! The moisture that we have been seeing these last few days is all a part of Dolly. I have mentioned this a couple of times this week. The showers & storms that moved through Kentucky on Wednesday were all directly related to Dolly. She isn’t finished with us just yet either!
Dewpoints were very high across the entire commonwealth on Wednesday. That explains that tropical feel that wasn’t present around here. Then you factor in the showers & storms that moved through and you get 10 shades of a nasty feel to the air. I am expecting another round of showers & storms to come rolling into the area on Thursday. Some of these could feature locally heavy rainfall. It should resemble what we have seen so far this week. Maybe a couple could even go severe at any moment. That has generally been the trend once these storms reach the fairly unstable air that has been hanging above Kentucky.
As I have said all week long… this rain will keep temps held in check on Thursday. It will be the days follwing that will smack you in the face with the heat build-up! I am still leaning towards daytime highs reaching the mid 90s on several days next week. It looks as if a heat wave will be on for Kentucky. With it being this far out I can’t really say if I think that we’ll reach advisory criteria. Though it will be close and probably a sure thing in western Kentucky. I’ll be watching this very closely as we head into the weekend.
