After a week of calm weather I am ready to run down the hallway and start working in Sports, News, and Sales! That way I could at least cover something new. In all honesty, I am fine with the current situation! You have to really love weather to pick through the action free days like I have had to this week. There will be more like this so I guess I'll take it in stride.

I am going to give you the brief lowdown on the forecast because that's all there really is to it and I'll begin discussing some of your comments.

For the next seven days I am looking at around 6 days like we have had this week. There is a high possibility that it could be 7, but right now I am trying to be optimistic! So we'll stick to the same ole routine... highs in the upper 70s to low 80s and lows in the 50s. Each of these days will happen under partly cloudy to mostly sunny days. Now for some model fun!

The last few NAM runs try to paint some light moisture inside of Kentucky. In fact, these runs have pushed it well into eastern Kentucky. I am thinking NO! What I do expect out of that moisture is more clouds around at different points. We'll have a mid level disturbance that will be hanging pretty close if not right on top of Kentucky. I do think that if you are looking for rain... look into western Kentucky. Those folks should have a few chances of rain over the next few days.

This isn't the time frame that I am hopeful for. That comes even deeper in the 7-day. A front will approach Kentucky by next Friday and it COULD bring some moisture to Kentucky by early Saturday. With that being so far out... I wouldn't count on that happening! However, I felt a 20% chance was at least necessary... even if it is only out of wanting something different! Selfish? Maybe! Inaccurate? Not yet! I do feel that there will be a front approaching the area so that part looks good on the old resume'

Let's just hope we see something out of this one!

Now for some real model fun. Rob and I were looking at the GFS's Long range precipitation accumulation model. Here's what it shows for Kentucky. Now remember, this is always subject to change since we are looking well into October!

WOW!!!! Do you see that big white area? That means NO RAINFALL!!! This is also stretching through an area hit by a worse level of drought than ours!

It is worldy things that we prepare for in weather. If it is going to rain that influences my decision to cook out or go to a football game. That's why I mention those things. I am trying to relate to people that will be going to that game or a festival. If this doesn't relate to you Mr./Ms/Mrs. Anonymous... here's what I want you to do... tell me what you do outside and I'll relate it especially for you. Things like football and festivals are "On My Radar" So I'd be happy to add another to look for!
