Kentucky Sgt. home recovering from helicopter fall
28 mins ago - Just three weeks after a training accident sent him falling 60 feet from a helicopter, Master Sgt. David Gentry is home recovering and even walking around.
If you didn't feel the Thursday morning chill then I think you may have been in Florida! I awoke to one cold arm, a cold face, cold ears, cold hair, and the sound of Jeff Healy's Angel Eyes playing in my room Thursday morning. The Angel Eyes is normal, but the cold parts... not so much. (Angel Eyes is the song that plays when the GF calls to make sure I have my lazy tail out of bed... Thanks Terri) Brownie points for mentioning her in the blog?!?! Probably! :) Anyways... you cam here for a weather blog and not a romance novel!
So the cold air filled the house and all I could do is pull the covers over my head and attempt to go back to sleep for another few minutes. On Wednesday night, I knew the cooler air was settling into the region, but like many of you... I had other things on my mind and switching the air over to heat was not one of my priorities. I had Halo 3 to play... yeah I'm still stuck on that game... So my mind was not on the heat! Though I don't think it got cool enough to really call for all out heat at the Caldwell house. Or Maybe I am one tight fella and I am not ready to crank that up just yet!
How about weather... There is a Frost Advisory in place for all of Southeastern Kentucky. This is heightened for valley locations. What will happen there is cold dense air will situate itself there and cause temperatures to cool off much more quickly in these locations. I expect lows in those valleys could get all the way down into the mid to upper 30s. That means Frost will be more likely there!
The weekend is looking a little warmer with highs in the 70s and lows near 50 degrees. This should make things very comfortable during the daytime hours.
Listen... I would love to go on and on about the forecast, but as I write this I keep typing words from the Vice Presidential Debate. So I think I am going to watch it... I cleared my evening up so that I could watch at least 1 hour of the debate. I'll have more weather stuff coming up on Friday. Plus I will respond to some of your comments. Bundle up... until Saturday Afternoon!
