Some Snow... Just Not Enough

The wintry blast has arrived and will soon be out of the region. This won't be our last run with winter this week though.

What better way to put you in the Christmas spirit than to see some snow right after Thanksgiving. Many of the days a head will be devoted shopping for the perfect gift or gifts. The snow will be flying from time to time and that will keep your spirits high even though the economy may be low. Just remember the reason we celebrate and I am sure you will get through. Sorry... this is a weather blog not time for a motivational speech.

Snow will continue throughout the overnight hours and into the first part of the day on Tuesday. It will probably wrap-up soon after the sun comes up on Tuesday morning. By that time many will be slipping and sliding around some of the area roads. I do expect travel to be a little crazy for some. So please... if you must be out on the road... take it easy! Totals accumulations will range from an inch or less in most locations up to 4 inches for the highest elevations. The 4" will only be in some isolated locations in those highly elevated areas.

We then focus on another front that comes our way from the northwest on Thursday. This will bring another round of rain and some snow. It will move through here rather quickly so I am thinking that any snowfall accumulation will be on the lower side of the ruler. Plus there should be a period of rain at first... which will be caused by some relatively warmer air that gets thrown into the mix.

Temps stay chilly on Tuesday and warm slightly on Wednesday. It's that same milder push of air that keeps the precip rain at first on Thursday.

Don't forget the winter weather outlook that is posted above!
