Some Milder Air Pays Us A Short Visit

It looks like any mild air will be here for a brief moment on Wednesday and then it leaves again. That opens the door for some more of the white stuff... not much... but some.

Cold weather isn't for everyone. Heck... I don't really like the cold that much it is just the snow that I care for. The point is... we should go a head and get ready for it because there is a big chunk of cold air that will remain in place for most of this 7-Day Forecast.

First, high pressure sitting to our south will pump in some milder air from the Gulf Of Mexico. This high plus the approaching front will start pulling warm and moist air into Kentucky. This pushes temps into the upper 40s to even the low 50s.

Second, Temps will be as warm as they are going to be at midnight Thursday morning. It looks as if temps will be near 50 at that point and then begin to fall somewhere there after. By the time it is all said and done... afternoon readings will only be in the mid 30s. However, the offcial high will likely go down in the record books somewhere in the 40s.

Third, The system that brings this cool down to the region will start out with some rain. Then it changes to snow as it passes us by. This will be a quick mover so I feel pretty confident in saying that it won't be a major snow producer for our region. I have been fooled before, but I am sure this will be way too quick for anything better than not much.

Finally, Cold sticks around for the entire 7-Day Forecast. There are some other systems out there that will bring more wintry chances to eastern Kentucky.

I am going to start showing off your Christmas lights... if you'll let me! Take a good night photo of your lights and email them to me at jim.caldwell@wymtnews.com   I'll be glad to showcase your lights right here and on the air!
