Cold Bites You

The next couple of nights look like they will be biting cold. There are a couple of stages of biting cold and this is a smaller bite.

A very cold air mass has invaded and it will stick around through the weekend. As a matter of fact it looks like it will be stronger come Sunday. Highs will only hover around the 30 degree mark.

A weak clipper system blows our way on Saturday night. It won't likely arrive until the night time hours. Once it rolls in here it brings some very light snow. This shouldn't be a big deal... just some light flakes that night. These systems typically don't bring very much moisture in our direction. There will be some moisture thrown our way though. The bulk of that will be falling on Sunday. That will be when we could see some light snow accumulation become a little more likely. Especially, for the folks that are over in the Big Sandy region. I am thinking the closer you get to I-75 the less likely the snow accumulation chances will be for you!

It's next week's system that really has my stomach flipping around and around. By mid-week a low develops to our south and spreads moisture towards Kentucky. That moisture will be thrown into some milder air on Tuesday. That means rain only on Tuesday and then some snow shower activity later. By Wednesday, the low yanks on some colder air and that can mean some issues for all of us around the region. The cold air and moisture get together and that means snow potential.

I'll talk more about this coming up on Saturday. I am again on Sports Overtime Duty...
