One killed, another airlifted after shots fired in Owsley County
Updated: 05/19/2013 - Trooper Paul Blanton confirmed a man has died, after shots were fired in Owsley County Saturday night.
He was right though... I am either really brave or really crazy. I knew going into this that my mind and the models would change long before the date ever got here. This is also a lesson for many of you too! With me focusing on one date so closely you will get to see the struggles that we all go through with each forecast. Other things to talk about though..
A weak front pulled through Kentucky on Friday. It did bring a lot of wind and some pretty decent shower activity. The pre-frontal temps were even warmer that I imagined on Thursday. I'll admit... I was a little shocked when I saw some of the readings. Once this front moves through Kentucky we'll see temps take a hit. This won't be the shot of cold air that will knock you down, but it will not go through quietly. Highs will only be in the 40s & 50s this weekend.
As for rain chances... it looks like Saturday night will include those. The rain will last during the first part of the day on Sunday and then it changes over to snow. Sunday will have a high around 50, but you won't feel that outside during the afternoon hours. This high will likely occur around Midnight and then temps will give into the second storm system.
I have talked about the two systems all week. Now we are in between #1 & #2 Two brings the house down with it bite into the current temp situation. Highs by Monday fall into the 20s with teens for lows.
After further review of the White Christmas scenario... I have this latest forecast for you.
Yes - Snow Flying In The Air
I'll be out and about for much of the weekend so a Saturday post may be out of the question (Last minute Christmas shopping) Sunday I'll probably have one here for you guys to read. Got to keep you up-to-date!
C-Ya Bye
