Wintry Weather Is Back

We have certainly had our fair share of rainfall over the last few weeks and now it's making a transition over to snow.

When I first started monitoring things again on Monday I noticed this push of energy that we are receiving this snow from right now. However, it didn't look that impressive at that point. There is another wave out there that has some really good potential. So now it will only be a matter of time before we see the snow pick up again.

A Winter Weather Advisory runs through 10am on Thursday for Bell-Floyd-Harlan-Knott-Leslie- Letcher-Perry-Pike Counties.

Most areas will see snow tonight, but these areas will likely experience the most accumulation. The higher elevations Could see up to 3inches of snow. While most areas will be somewhere in between an inch to 2 inches. Counties not included in the advisory could pick-up a dusting or up to 1 inch. This is my first trick situation since being back so I haven't followed the developments with this as closely as I could have. Though I feel pretty confident about the totals I mentioned above.

This is one image that I agree with. The only thing missing is a a few spots of blue for the mountain region. Other than that... I think this graphic sums up what I am thinking.

Things look better on Friday with dry conditions and somewhat milder temps. But another system approaches Kentucky this weekend. It starts out as rain and could end as some snow on Saturday. It will be a fast moving system so it should be out of here on Sunday.

I haven't bought into a system for next week... it's not a system that will produce significant snow... just terrible cold. I'll give the data a couple of more days before I become a full blown believer of the pattern.

That's some pretty cold stuff around here. Let's just wait a couple more days and maybe I'll be convinced of this possible Arctic outbreak.

C-Ya Bye
