When I get back in the swings of things I promise I'll get back to where I was before I left. I had no time to properly analyze our Wednesday night-Thursday system. To really get an understanding of these things you have to see how they have developed on the models from the very beginning. I had the luxury of a computer, but just didn't keep up with the patterns while I was gone. Sure many areas in the higher elevations reported what was mentioned, but a lot of locations didn't pick-up much at all. Come to think of it... my graphical representation of the snow was pretty accurate. Because at one time or another there was some snow on the ground in many spots in our region. I'm not making excuses... I am just being honest and this is one of the only places I have time to give you the hows and whys. It's hard to fit all of that into 3 minutes during a newscast. Maybe I should ask for longer weathercasts in my next contract?!?!? hmmm....lol
I am very prepared for what comes this weekend and next week. This time we'll nail whatever may come our way!
There really isn't much to say about Friday other than it will be a dry one and a little warmer. Should stay calm for anyone heading out for some high school basketball action (more specifically the WYMT Whayne Supply Mountain Classic) or a nice family dinner.
Our Saturday system has slowed down some. It will arrive here on Saturday afternoon and bring rain to our region... at first. Remember, temps that afternoon will be well into the 40s and that keeps everything on the side of rain. As the front goes swinging on through... the cold air will be quickly following behind. That's when the change from rain to snow will occur.
I don't expect much accumulation out of this one. I think this projection pretty much sums it up. However, if the track changes slightly we could see more in the way of snowfall. Still totals aren't going to be major.
As far as the cold for next week... the data is already pushing the cold a head by a couple of days. It is still showing it, but on a different day. Last post I showed you early Thursday morning. This post I'll show you that the cold isn't arriving until early Friday.
I mean that's no walk in the park... but let's give it more time before I go yelling leave your water dripping at night!
