Investigators 'zeroing in' on Colorado wildfire start
Posted: 11:46 PM - Sheriff's officials say they have now recorded more than 500 homes leveled by the most destructive wildfire in Colorado history.
I would be telling you a lie if I said I wasn't surprised to see 50 degrees hit and left behind. Somerset & London both got well into the 50s! The cold air just wasn't strong enough to keep this extremely warm air away from Kentucky.
After seeing how far temps went Thursday it makes me fell a little better about saying that Friday has a really good chance to have the same thing happen. The warm air advection really took over the region. And believe it or not... I think most locations stay above the freezing mark during the overnight forecast period.
Clouds will begin to thicken up towards the end of the day and then a chance of showers will approach the area. late in the day. It appears the rain will be light in nature. It will then be time to kiss this warm air goodbye as the cold air will make a return to the region for the weekend. At the same time that this transition is taknig place I believe some of the moisture could change from rain to snow. This occurs early on Saturday.
The real question is what in the world happens next week? So far it appears that the Mid-week system puts us on the fence! We could see rain... we could see snow... we could see ice... we could see geese...lol It's a very tricky situation!

This is early Wednesday. Remember we are around a week out so this will change. But you get the idea of what's happeneing by looking at this image. If I went with what I see today and tried to put a gurantee on it I would say brief period of freezing rain and snow then mainly rain. I'll have to give it a few more days though. This is just to give you a heads up on the situation.
