Travis Gaines attends graduation ceremony with classmates
Updated: 05/24/2013 - A Lexington teen, who was paralyzed after a diving incident while on spring break in April, attends his high school graduation ceremony.
As much as I love the snowy weather... I hate when ice comes into the picture!!!! I hate it for several reasons...
I am sure I have many more, but I am half asleep and trying to get you guys updated before my normal evening post.
Here's the way it's looking for us... when the actual big players get here it will start out as rain for southern Kentucky. There will also be a small line of freezing rain that will hover in between I-64 and the Hal Rogers Parkway/KY 80. This will also be the area that will have a better chance to get in on the snow action as well. It all depends on on how far south that ice line moves.
The icing potential will be around for a few hours until warmer air filters in at the surface as well. This changes everything over to rain temporarily!

The GFS shows anywhere between one inch of snow up to four inches in our part of the world. The biggest area appears to be the 2-3 inch swath. The ice ranges between a tenth of an inch up to a half inch.

The WRF is indicating a more snow all across Kentucky. It is showing up 6 inches and higher in those deep blues. As far as ice is concerned... it is a lillte more conservative. With only a quarter of an inch at the most in our area. Look out west though... it shows 1.5" of ice in the maroon!
So what do I say about this one? I'll give you a full update after I see how it's looking Monday afternoon. That's when I'll make my call on snowfall and all that jazz! These models above are for hungry minds... not to be taken as the gospel... yet!
