The temps we are seeing put us back where we should be for this period in March. Daytime highs are supposed to be around 50 degrees. That's where we were out there on Wednesday.
This warming trend has been slow to arrive, but has finally gotten everything worked out with Mother Nature. I have a concern about this warm-up though. I have been posting forecast highs here in this blog and on WYMT-TV just like normal. What has been getting me is simply the fact that the actual highs with these warm-ups are beating me by 5-7 degrees each time this has happened over the last month. Unfortunately, that's a part of learning and in this business... it is a lesson every single day! After reviewing my earlier forecast I have decided to take the lesson I have learned here and up my forecast highs.
Thursday- Old forecast highs: mid & upper 50s. New Forecast: Upper 50s low 60s.
The rest of the period should play out as planned or a few degrees warmer. Thursday was my big challenge with no big weather systems influencing what could happen.
Some data suggests that highs will climb into the low to mid 70s by Saturday. I haven't officially changed that in my forecast, but I could be sold on that with a few more runs.
This is something I may push the button on if other things pan out this week!
