Eastern Kentucky Weather

Wave 2 Is Out... Wave 3 Is Coming

Posted: Thu 10:25 PM, Mar 26, 2009

We have been hit by two rounds of wet weather over the last few days. The third one is lurking out there and will make a run across Kentucky this weekend.

First, we had the front bring some rain to the region. Second, a low passes right over the folks in Kentucky. Finally, another low will pull warm & unstable air in from the Gulf of Mexico and that could mean some thunderstorms.

Let's get Friday's forecast knocked out. It stays fairly mild with highs in the 50s and low 60s. There will likely be an extended period of sunshine around the region. This will make things look  nice for a little while! Late in the day more clouds will approach and open up the doors for more rainfall. It looks like Friday might end up being a pretty decent day.

It's Saturday that has me a little worried. I started mentioning this a couple of days ago and now the odds of having some severe weather have gone up just a little. Obvioulsy, I'll have an even better idea on Friday, but to help you prepare for whatever may come our way we'll talk a little more about it right now! The SPC has highlighted us under the Slight Risk Category for severe weather.

Categorical Outlook

Probabilistic

I will monitor this very closely and have more in Friday night's post!
