Eastern Kentucky Weather

WInter Has Made A Return

The severe weather that rolled through Sunday night opened to door for some extremely cold air! That's what we have in place now. Just a little taste of winter.

Something that I was very reluctant about most of last week has finally arrived. I wasn't onboard until Friday. I will openly admit that here with you guys. It kept hinting that I might change my mind and ultimately I did!

Now I bet you are wondering how much we will see?!?!?! I don't think that roads will be totally covered with snow. The roads will become a little slick with the temps dropping off into the 20s. Road temps are still relatively warm. So that means that snow will have more difficulty sticking. The grassy areas have a better chance to see the snowfall stick to them. However, the highest elevations could see totals up to 4 inches in some locations. It is in those high elevations that the winter weather advisory is in place. The counties included are Bell, Harlan, Letcher, and Pike through 8pm Tuesday

All of us are under a Freeze Warning through Tuesday morning. Then Tuesday evening a Freeze Watch will begin. We are dealing with some seriously cold temps for April. It's not unusual... it's just part of the wild weather picture that we have painted here for us in Kentucky.
