Flooding Continues

Posted: Sun 8:08 PM, May 10, 2009

Numerous communities are still under water after recent flooding. I finally found a moment to get you up-to-date on everything.

First, let me share with you the forecast. Over the next few days we stay on the dry side. I think we'll see more sunshine leading up to mid-week. Rain chances return at that point!

Kristen Daniels - Eastern Communtiy in Floyd County

Brandon Smith of Booneville. This was taken in Breathitt County along highway 30.

Greta Stephens in Prestonsburg, KY. This is the veterans memorial in Archer Park.

WYMT's Dara Rees took this along route 7 just outside of Salyersville.

Rebekah Sizemore sent this from Magoffin County.

Greg sent this in from Martin, KY over in Floyd County.

Robert Isaac grabbed this photo in Maytown, KY.

These pictures were taken in Mill Creek at Wayland in Floyd County.  The pictures of the flood water were take after the water had receeded some.  It was at it's highest point just before daybreak.  The flood water has severely damaged our bridge and the road.

Louise Fitzpatrick sent this in from my home county of Magoffin... specifically in Royalton.

Louise sent this in from Magoffin as well. This is South Magoffin Elementary, a brand new school that just opened this year. Some folks I have spoken with say that the water did get inside the school.

There are many many more that you can find on our iWitness page.
