Travis Gaines attends graduation ceremony with classmates

The soupy part of the air will lead to more showers & thunderstorms. We may as well get used to the very uncomfortable feel to the air over the next few days here. A front will eventually work across Kentucky and then the air will become a little dryer.
Wednesday: Many of us will see sunny skies for a while and then during that afternoon and evening a scattering if showerrs & thunderstorms will become popping up! These will not last long, but do have the potential to lay quite a bit of rainfall down. There isn't an extremely high possibility of these storms going severe, however, I have seen that happen on many occasions! Just pay close attention to the forecast these next few days. Especially, during the afternoon hours.
Thursday: There is a cold front nearing the region. When that front pushes through eastern Kentucky it will increase the chance for more widespread rain. That front should clear the area by late Thursday or early Friday and that will mean more calm and dry conditions!
Remember, these little boogers are hard to nail down! By nail down I mean exact time and location. I'd love to tell you that the shower will begin at 5:31 in Hazard and end at 6:07 over near Hindman, but I cannot! I can give you a range and that should cover the most active timeframe.
