The front did fire off some showers & storms as it passed us by, but the cool air that one would hope for after the passage just isn't happening. The humidity stays right here too! The only positive will be the lack of rainfall we'll see on Saturday.
The break from that rainfall will not be long lasting... it will be right back in here on Saturday. The daytime highs on Saturday will climb into the upper 80s & 90s for some folks. The chance for showers & storms will swing right back into Kentucky on Sunday. It will stay on the hot side, but the showers will quickly follow the shot of hot air that arrives with the warm front. When the cold front finds the way across Kentucky on Sunday... we could see some strong showers & storms develop at that time.
At the time of this posting the SPC has us highlighted in the Slight Risk category for severe weather. The following graphic will update as the information changes.
You will be glad to know that after the second front passes through we could see some relief from the heat. Looks like a low will sit over the Great Lakes and spin for a few days next week. This will keep the winds coming from the northwest and keeps the clouds around the region. Some data suggests that highs will only near 80 degrees on a couple of days.
