More troops due back at Fort Campbell
0 mins ago - Families and friends will be meeting loved ones this week at Fort Campbell, where more soldier are returning to the post on the Kentucky-Tennessee from Afghanistan.
The answer is quite simply that it will get wet late on Saturday and into Sunday. Chances of showers & storms will be possible all around the region on Sunday. Not so much on Saturday.
The front that will bring the rain back ro Kentucky will most likely get here around 9-10pm Sat night! That will be when our rain chances will be at the highest for Saturday. Some showers could start blowing up long before that ever rolls around. I am mainly talking about the widely scattered shower & storm activity. SO most of us will have a pretty enjoyable Saturday.
Another debate is the daytime high. In the last post I shot up here I mentioned how cool it has been for July... Saturday could be our last chance to see a true summer's day! The highs are expected to climb into the upper 80s... that of course depends on the final timing of the rain and the cloud cover. The rain isn't my big issue... I really believe the widespread stuff won't be here until late. It's the rain that will be off to our north that has me concerned about cloud cover. Clouds will begin populating the skies above us long before the rain ever shows up here. Those clouds, if thick enough, could hold temps down a few degrees. That would ultimately mean that our high would not hit the upper 80s.

If the image above indicates anything... it says that cloud cover during the peak heating of the day won't have much of a chance.

This indicates a better chance of having some moisture above out heads to support clouds cover and possibly some rain. These two models havent agreed on the timing all week though.
Just keep an eye on the northern sky this weekend!
I'll be on a Staycation next week so I'll probably have a few updates. Then again I might decide to live at the golf course from daylight till dark... so who knows?!?!? I guess that all really depends on the weather...lol... and right now it isn't looking the best for that!
