Reconstruction of Exit 95 postponed until 2017

I wish that we could talk nice weather and all that jazz... but once again... we're talking flooding. It only took a few showers and storms to cause all the problems that we saw in Leslie County. We have filled the ground up with water again and the new water had no place to go! So here we are!

I have used this graphic before, but once again it is relevant!

This image above is U.S. 421. The road is completely gone and someone was driving over this when it happened! From what I can gather... he didn't drive through water. The water just washed out the culvert. Amazing!
The rainfall was pretty intense in this area. Radar estimates were around 6" of rainfall.

The totals could have been skewed a little bit, but there is no doubt that the folks in this area picked up a lot of rainfall!
The coming days will include some sunshine. The system that brought this rainfall will be pretty close so we'll at least see some cloud cover from the system. I'm not going to rule out an isolated shower on Thursday. Friday through most of Sunday are actually looking dry now. The heat comes rolling back in very soon though!
