Thanksgiving Day & Black Or Should I say "White" Friday...lol

Posted: Wed 10:38 PM, Nov 25, 2009

The cold air is beginning to settle in and now all we need is the moisture to make this forecast pan out. All indications are still there and will likely be coming our way on Thursday night into Friday.

I guess it has been over a week since we first started talking about the wintry possibilities. Here we are still talking about the potential. The only thing that has changed since last week is the timing... which is to be expected. The system still looks like it could bring some snow to our region. This all coming after another super nice Wednesday. The cold air is here and now it's time to get mixing! The moisture and the cold air look like they will come toegther right over Kentucky. This leads us to the snow shower activity that we have in the forecast.

As I look at the way things are playing out I think that most of Thanksgiving will be dry... cloudy.... but dry! Once the evening hours settle in I think we will have a completely different ballgame. The moisture will be here and that will lead to some rain showers in the beginning and then the snow will pick up later.

We are looking at late Thursday evening here and right on cue we are seeing the change. This has something I have posted all week here and talked abot the timing. Data still hints at the change happening here and then more later.

The wintry stuff is still here at around sunrise on Friday. Just like it has been in most runs this week. This will be a crucial time for many of you heading out to grab those deals or if you are like me... heading back to work for the early morning shift!

Here we are at the end of the wintry round. It lasts all day long, but once again I was lazay and didn't include all of the images in between. Trust me though... the snow showers are there.

One big question that always seems to pop up is "How much snow will we get?" Not much at all. Could there be some on the ground? Yup! Especially in the higher elevations. The rest of us could see some too though.

This is about as good as it will get for most of us. I guess you could call it a good coating over the area.

Don't forget that this weather pattern will stay active through parts of next week. This may just be the tip of the snowflake... I'll give you a quick preview of what the data is showing right now!

This is still a week away, but just look at that moisture and the cold flow coming in here! Will begin following this a little closer next week or maybe this weekend!

Happy Thanksgiving!

C-Ya Bye
