Funeral arrangements pending for MSU student killed in crash
Updated: 05/19/2013 - Funeral arrangements have not yet been made for a Morehead State student killed in a car crash this weekend.
A winter storm is battering the mountains.
The system has dropped several inches of snow all across the area.
Thousands of people are in the dark. In Pike County alone there are 34,000 people without power.
Crews are out trying to restore power in every county.
WYMT is also off the air due to a power outage at the station and at our tower site on Buffalo Mountain.
Perry, Pike, and Whitley Counies are under a state of emergency. People in those areas are asked to stay off the roads if at all possible.
We will try to update the web as much as possible.
Emergency shelters have opened in several counties.
