Focus On March

Posted: Sun 3:13 AM, Feb 28, 2010

The focus has shifted from this weekend to the first part of the new work week and the beginning of March.

Trust me on what I am about to type... it's slick out there! Depending on what time you read this... LOL... I was taking the garbage out for the Sunday run and I went slipping and sliding with only garbage cans to keep me stable. Be careful!

With the weekend winding up and the last system nearly out of the region... time to change our FOCUS!

As you know... March is nearly here. Traditionally, that means warmer weather starts showing back up in KY on a more consistent basis. Probably not happening this year! Let's think of this a little more positively though... we are nearing an end to winter whether Mother Nature likes it or not! We have had instances where winter lasted into April and if a there was a good case for that... this year would most likely be one of them. So here's what I'll say... Let's get through the next  month and a half and I think things will be very positive.

A southern system will come swinging through the Gulf and up the east coast this week. The data has been pretty consisent with snow showing up here as the system pulls away from the region. The beginning has been the back & forth issue. Let's take a closer look. I will also show our project images at the bottom!

GFS Tuesday Early          GFS Tuesday Morning        GFS Tuesday Afternoon

GFS Tuesday Evening             GFS Wednesday Early

If the moisture reaches our area a little earlier we will see a decent shot of snow... once again it will be about track and timing!

GFS Snowfall Forecast

On with our project.

18z run on Tuesday for March 2nd

18z run on Wednesday for March 2nd

18z run on Thursday for March 2nd

18z run on Friday for March 2nd

18z run on Saturday for March 2nd

We'll monitor it even more on Sunday!
