Not guilty plea in deadly Scott County crash
13 mins ago - A man charged in a deadly crash made his first court appearance on Tuesday afternoon.
The snow has been on the ground and then you see it melt! Then it's on the ground and then you see another period of melting! Not everyone has had the opportunity to see the melting. Some of the higher elevations receive the snow and no melting. Unlike the rest of us... the accumulation has actually added up in some of those spots where it was common to find an inch or three on the ground. If you go back and add up all that the melting areas have seen you will end up with a couple of inches... maybe less! The roadways have had it pretty tough though! Ther has been just enough on the roads to become a nuisance!
Most of my posts have been devoted to snow because of the frequency of the events. We are actually going to talk about something other than snow in this post. Sure... we'll end up talking about it again, but the warm stuff is our first stop!
The warm up will not be off the charts for Saturday, but it will feel much better!
GFS Highs Saturday NAM Highs Saturday

This is only the beginning! It all won't come in one dose... this just gets you ready for the better stuff later on in the weekend and early next week!
GFS Highs Sunday

That's something really nice to see in a forecast. It won't be the last either. Monday is looking even better.
Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end and an end will come for this short-lived warm spell.
We'll talk more about that in another post. Let's keep the mood positive here and only think of good things in great detail.
Time to comment on some of your comments!
Posted by: Bill Jim it looks like March came in like a Lamb so I guess it will go out like a Lion. How accurate is the old saying?
I am not sure the accuracy on that old saying. I'll have to check back through the years and come up with a definite answer.

Hi. I have a question. For the 2010 season so far, how much (inches) snow have we gotten already up to this point for the year? Next question. As soon as the weather warms and the sun begins to shine, are people gonna start screamin "DROUGHT"! bECAUSE i THINK AFTER THE TERRIBLE NASTY WINTER WE HAVE ENDURED, AT LEAST GIVE US THE SATISFACTION OF NOT HEARING DROUGHT AS WE DO EVERY YEAR!
Officially, just a little more than 50 inches. As far as a drought is concerned... I don't see it being really dry for a while. I think that at least the first part of spring will stay pretty wet!

Hi Jim. I know we are looking at some nice temps coming up but I am wondering about next week snow. Do you think we may get some snow on the ground. Also I wanted to tell you a few weeks ago you wrote that we may get a humdinger and I told my kids that the weather man said we may be getting a humdinger. My kids looked at me funny and said, "what is a humdinger?" LOL
It will have to get pretty cold fast and then accumulation chances will begin going up! Not until then though... That system is still pretty questionable! Tell your kids that we haven't had a humdinger.... YET! LOL...
