It takes a day like Wednesday to remind me that this type of weather scenario is exactly what I enjoy most! Everything covered in white and the stillness of a good snow might be near the top as well. I think I can wait on that until next season though! The comfort zone is here... it's not too hot or cold. Mainly, these highs aren't too warm. As long as I don't sweat a 5 gallon bucket full walking from my car to the door here at the station I think I am in pretty good shape. Those days are coming soon I am afraid!
Daytime highs have been a little surprising. I knew that we would be extremely warm, but near 80 degrees in southern KY on Wednesday wasn't at all what I expected. Mid 70s I saw coming, but near 80 really ruins my forecast confidence for this time of year.
Highs

These are only the highs at the Mesonet locations. Here are some official highs.
Jackson: 74
London 73
Somerset 78
I see these getting a little bit warmer each day this week. The weekend will bring the temps back down a few degrees. It won't be a level that we'll find as uncomfortable... actually rather pleasant!
In my last post I was debating the rain chances for Saturday and since then I have been convinced that the rain will start on Saturday evening. The data is trying to make this system fall a part rather quickly though.
GFS Sat Afternoon GFS Sat Evening

We'll see how this looks with some of the later runs.
As far as the mystery I was talking about for next week... we'll keep it at that for now. I'll review again on Thursday!
