I don't mind the weather pattern slowing down at all! I do get caught up on other things... like my knitting and my golf...LOL I wish that could be true! Despite the slow down... we are still pretty busy around here. I am always afraid that a forecast like this won't hold and a shower will slip in without warning. That keeps me on my toes! Right now we are still looking at rain for the first part of the weekend.
The data is trying to push some showers in the area early on Friday. I don't really think that will be the case. It looks like the better chances for showers will happen later in the day! I was toying with the idea of rain on Friday and now I am pretty convinced that it will happen! Not what the folks over in Pikeville want to hear with the upcoming Hillbilly Days. Pikeville is always a great town, but when this annual event comes around it gets full fast. The reason we need the rain is because of the forest fires that continue to grow in several counties. Burn bans are in place in several KY counties. Most right here in our region!
That was at last check... 10:11pm on Tuesday night!
These areas have active fires:

Obviously, this can and will change at any moment. To keep up with the latest list click Daily Wildland Fire Reports and look for the box below!
Here's what the next solid chance of rain looks like. It's not overwhelming yet... but maybe it could be eventually.. I hope!
This is what Friday evening looks like across KY at this point! It will have a pretty significant battle to get us nice and wet.
