Eastern Kentucky Weather

A Wet Week

Posted: Mon 10:37 PM, May 17, 2010

All of this rain is really getting old! I think it is time for a few dry days around here.

The rain came with a little bit of a kick on Monday evening/night. One pretty intense cell produced haill across a big chunk of southern & eastern KY. As it passed over the station... I only saw pea.... maybe a few dime sized pieces of hail. Others were not as fortunate...

From Nettie in London

From Brian in Somerset... the hail in this person's hand isn't what's impressive... it's the hail covering the ground that I find really impressive!

From John in Nancy... Pulaski Co. The severe weather may have been intense for a little while, but following the storm we have scenes like this one.

The next few days will all include more showers and storms. At this point there isn't an organized threat for severe weather... but I wouldn't be shocked to see more storms possibly pop up strong or even severe. Even if they don't go strong or severe... there will still be plenty of them showing up across the region.

As most of you know... Tuesday is Election Day. I encourage you to get out and vote, but before you go... be prepared for whatever Mother Nature brings.

C-Ya Bye
