I hope you all got out and voted. It wasn't a great looking day by any means... but at least it was fairly warm. That warmth jumped on a plane and got the heck out of Dodge. It's around 10pm here on Wednesday night and it is really getting chilly outside. This won't last much longer... my 7-Day is full of 80 degree temps.
Thursday has had the most potential all week to be the best looking day in my forecast. It is looking dry with minimal cloud cover in the area. So we'll have plenty more sunshine coming our way... compare that with very little sunshine these last few days.
The end of the week and weekend are of great importance to me... one... it's the weekend and two... the annual Big Sandy Senior Games will be going on Friday. The timing of the rain will mean everything to those folks competing in the games. I have been there on nice days and I have been there on not so nice days. This year it will be close! It has the potential to be a really wonderful day. But remember that is only POTENTIAL!
Here we go...
WRF Fri Afternoon WRF Fri Evening WRF Early Sat AM WRF Sat AM

The rain will be easing into the area on Friday afternoon according to the WRF. It hangs around all the way through Saturday. What could happen on Saturday is it will become more of a scattered event. Still... we'll be entering another very Debbie Downer forecast period.
GFS Fri Afternoon GFS Fri Evening GFS Early Sat GFS Sat AM

The GFS has an earlier start time on Friday. Actually, much earlier! The first image I am using here is for the afternoon and in the early data it is in the region as early as 6-12 hours earlier. The positive I see is the rain starts calming down earlier on Saturday.
Another question that I have about this whole mess is will it bring strong or severe storms? The set-up isn't off the charts... that doesn't mean a thing. I have seen similar situations where in fact we did have severe weather and I won't rule it out with this round!
The warmth will return with the weekend set-up. Highs will be back in the 70s and 80s and that could last into next week. That is... if another interesting set-up doesn't have a bigger influence. We'll discuss that later!
