Perry County cleaning up after flashing flood
Posted: 6:00 PM - Heavy rains caused major problems in the Perry County community of Big Creek, after flash flooding swept away cars and flooded an elementary school.
You could really feel it in the air on Tuesday.... the juice! It was pretty humid in most areas. If you got under a shower you weren't lucky because that just added to the nasty feel in the air. The aftermath was super sticky. That's a common thing to see this time of year. If you were one of those folks that had a shower pass over your house then you will be some of the same folks dealing with some areas of fog during the overnight hours and early on Wednesday morning.
The forecast for Wednesday will once again feature a slight chance for isolated showers. For most of us I think we'll stay pretty dry! That changes on Thursday with the arrival of a front. The front won't be in a hurry to clear the area... meaning... it will be close enough to keep things pretty unsettled over the next few days.
I'll tell you what I miss... ambitious fronts! I like a good front that will swing into KY and try to get all the way to the Gulf Of Mexico! We are getting past the time frame for fronts to have enough strength to make it all the way down there.

Fronts will ride right along the upper level winds and as you see here... they don't make it that far out of Canada these days. June is a peak month for severe weather here in KY and yes we can see a good strong front defy the odds and come in here and clean house. It's just not happening right now! Most of them now start taking a much more northern path.
As long as these waves of energy stay north of our area... we'll stay active.

Watch this map for daily changes!
A really intense heat core will start building into parts southern Texas and Mexico. We'll see a little taste of that this week. What will likely keep our highs down will be the presence of the showers and storms! I'll have more later!
